Just a note on Chinese names if I may, Kanekoa, because there seems to be some inconsistency in the article. Chinese family names go first, with the given names coming second. The giveaway is that characters are one syllable, and family names are almost always one character. Given names may be one or two characters. Thus Mao ZeDong would be known as Chairman Mao; Xi JinPing is President Xi, not President JinPing. The doctors pictured across the bottom of your article are Drs. Du, Zhou, and Jiang.
The same custom is followed across Japan, Korea, and Vietnam, with the following caution. During the American occupation of Japan after World War 2, given the necessity of communicating frequently with Americans, Japanese began to report their names consistent with the Western practice: family name last, given name first.

At what point will folks realize the adversial relationship between America and China is pure theater as high level military technology and medical research has been given to the Communist Party of China for decades by high ranking US officials and the Israeli government.
Everything, every thing, about the illness "COVID 19" caused by the "novel zoonotic coronavirus named SARS-CoV-2" is clouded heavily with multiple strong clues and proofs of long-term PLANNING of the launch of the PLANdemic. Everything in Communist China is part of "China military." The USA and Canada and several USA universities and DARPA USA military defense agency as well as several other USA government agencies have had close collaborations with Chinese scientists. China scientists come to USA university medical and scientific laboratories as well as USA national laboratories that are sometimes located within universities and medical branches of universities. Much of the "science" related to SARS-CoV-2 happened in USA laboratories. By the way there is no proof at all that the illness that many people experienced was ever identified and "SARS-CoV-2" is not at all proven to be the "new pathogen" that was causing illness that they named "COVID-19."
I have a feeling that this story about Dr. Peter Hotez is part of the plan to start selling the "China Wuhan lab leak" idea that our USA media and congress are setting in place now. I think this whole Wuhan lab leak theory is to cover up the many years' planning for the PLANdemic and the rationale for the mass vaccination with experimental gene editing "vaccines" based on a lab created pathogen, not a natural "virus." Dr. Michael Yeadon PhD states ""respiratory viruses do not exist at all. They don't." "SARS" is marketed as Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome corona virus, and SARS-CoV-2 is the newly "discovered" pathogen.
I think the China Lab leak theory is what will get some evil people at the top of the so called "Deep State" or what I call the Brotherhood of Darkness off the hook from crimes against humanity.
