Candace Owens' Egyptian Plane Hoax
For three months, Candace Owens told millions of people that Egyptian military planes were the "key to solving Charlie Kirk’s murder." The problem is the flight data proves the theory was false.
For three months, Candace Owens told her audience that two Egyptian military planes were the “key to solving Charlie Kirk’s murder.”
She repeated it across episode after episode in October, November, and December.
According to her theory, those aircraft tracked Charlie’s wife, Erika Kirk, 73 times over three years, and exposed a massive international conspiracy involving the U.S. government, the FBI, the Department of Homeland Security, France, Israel, and even Brigitte Macron.
The planes, she said, were the smoking gun.
There was just one problem.
The data was wrong.
I purchased the FlightRadar24 and FlightAware logs for those aircraft and reviewed the flight records myself.
When the data was examined, the planes were in the wrong locations 66% of the time. Roughly 60% of the time they were on entirely different continents than where Candace claimed they were.
On top of that, Candace provided no evidence for Erika Kirk’s location, which she appeared to get wrong nearly 100% of the time.
In other words, the entire theory was built on a fraudulent spreadsheet.
On December 16, after these errors were exposed, Candace admitted her spreadsheet was “misleading” and promised her audience an updated timeline correcting the record.
It’s been over two months.
There has been no update.
So the obvious question remains:
What happened to the Egyptian planes?
Constructing a Narrative
What’s striking about this theory is that Candace didn’t follow evidence toward a conclusion. She constructed a narrative designed to reach two topics she was already focused on long before Charlie’s murder: Israel and Brigitte Macron.
The story stretched outward until Egyptian planes somehow connected to both.
When that narrative collapsed, the silence that followed said everything.
Candace’s investigation into Charlie’s murder isn’t a legitimate pursuit of truth.
When the spreadsheet fell apart, instead of correcting the record with her audience, she simply moved the goalposts.
True integrity would require a public correction as loud as the original accusations.
Instead, those planes were “the key to solving Charlie’s murder” in October, November, and December.
But in January and February, they apparently weren’t worth a single tweet or update.
Candace isn’t investigating a murder.
She’s squeezing Charlie’s murder for views until the juice runs dry, and then moving on to the next squeeze.
She’s dancing on Charlie’s grave while monetizing his murder.
It’s transparent. It’s dishonest. And it’s a disgrace to Charlie’s memory.
There is something profoundly wrong about claiming to want justice for Charlie while systematically slandering the people and the organization he spent his entire life building.
Candace says she’s defending his legacy.
But she has treated Charlie’s closest friends and his own widow as co-conspirators.
And she has done it without presenting a single piece of direct evidence.
What she has actually done is invert the truth.
In Candace Owens’ version of events, a DNA-linked confession is a distraction.
But two Egyptian planes are the smoking gun.
Think about that.
Candace looks away from a confession and a murder weapon, and instead points toward the First Lady of France.
Why?
Why would any "investigative journalist" work this hard to ignore the person who actually pulled the trigger to focus on Brigitte Macron?
In most courtrooms, a confession backed by physical evidence leads to a conviction.
In Candace’s narrative, it was simply inconvenient to the view count on her ad-reading soap opera.
So instead of following the evidence to the person who actually pulled the trigger, she constructed a story that runs from Egyptian planes to Brigitte Macron.
It’s a complete reversal of reality.
The man identified by his own parents and who confessed to the crime multiple times becomes irrelevant.
Meanwhile Egyptian planes, Charlie’s organization, and even his grieving widow are cast as suspects.
That isn’t justice.
It’s character assassination disguised as investigation.
And doing it under the banner of “searching for the truth” is a disgrace to Charlie Kirk’s memory.
Candace claimed Egyptian planes were the key to solving Charlie Kirk’s murder.
But the moment the data was exposed as wrong, the planes vanished.
